My dad had this 1950s review show, very Las Vegas-style, and my uncle impersonated Elvis, and that was my favorite part of the show. I was taken with how girls were screaming for “Elvis”. And as a young kid, you’re like, “I want that.” I was given a cameo in the movie “Honeymoon in Vegas”. I became a real, real attention whore after that. I had to do music because, that’s all I grew up doing. So the dream was hopefully one day I’d be able to make my album and tour the world. Be able to see the world and perform my songs. And now I’m living the dream.

I don’t want to hear a song that I’ve written three years ago and it sounds out of date, I take my music seriously. I like to keep things consistent and special. The payoff is getting that incredible feeling of hearing a whole audience sing a song back to you. I birthed these songs down the street here in LA, in a small little studio. The fact that me and my guys get to perform for entire stadiums all around the world, even in places where English isn’t really the first language. They’re singing Just The Way You Are back and Billionaire back, Nothin’ On You, Grenade, all these songs back, that’s what’s special to me. That’s what I do it for.
